Angella Okutoyi is over the moon after Africa's highest-ranked tennis player replied to her message following her triumph at the African Games.
After making history at the African Games with a gold medal in tennis, Angella Okutoyi has another reason to rejoice after Africa’s highest-ranked women’s tennis player Ons Jabeur replied to her DM on Instagram.
Okutoyi had messaged the Tunisian sometime back to share how she was inspiring her and many other Africans for glory on March 11 but she did not receive a reply then.
At the time, Okutoyi said: “Hi Ons, you truly are an inspiration to many Africans out here me being one. Thank you.”

Kenya’s tennis sensation Angella Okutoyi has given an account of an emotional moment that fueled her desire to win a first tennis gold medal for Kenya at the African Games since 1978.
However, the tennis sensation reached out to Okutoyi today (Sunday, March 24), apologising for her late reply and lauding the Kenyan for her gold medal at the Ghanaian showpiece that has just ended.

Meanwhile, Okutoyi achieved a major feat, securing Kenya a gold medal after defeating Egypt’s Lamis Abdelaziz with an impressive score of 6-4, 6-2 in the tennis final.
The 20-year-old made history as the first Kenyan woman to win this prestigious title in nearly half a century, since Jane Davies-Doxzon's victory back in 1978.
The feat is not only history in the making but also paves her way towards an Olympic dream, contingent upon her breaking into the top 400 rankings.
