The Ukrainian high jumper was confident heading into Paris Olympics after breaking the longest-ever world record in the Diamond League.
Paris Olympics high jump champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh has said the feel-good factor played a crucial role in her bagging gold in the French capital.
The Ukrainian, who added one centimetre to the world record set by Stefka Kostadinova at the 1987 World Championships in Rome when she cleared 2.10m at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Paris, added that the world record was her dream.

'I was never that person' - Usain Bolt reveals the one aspect about his career that annoyed his coach & drove him into early retirement
Usain Bolt broke several records in 100m, 200m and 400m but never gave 100 percent in training, something that his coached never agreed on.
On breaking the world record two months before her triumph as an Olympian, she stated: "The world record was my dream, my goal. I always believed it was possible one day. My manager always said it was possible, everything is possible. But a lot of other people said it was one of the oldest records and the possibility of breaking it had been exhausted. Now I have jumped it and proved that women can jump higher than 2.09m – and I hope higher than 2.10m.
The 23-year-old was named as the women’s field athlete of the year at the World Athletics Awards 2024. The high jumper from Dnipro is a gold and silver medalist at the World Indoor Championships.
