American sprinter Brittany Brown reveals ambitious target after winning 200m in Oslo

The 2019 world silver medalist has revealed her targets after beating the likes of Marie Josee Ta Lou-Smith and Shericka Jackson at the Oslo Diamond League.

American sprinter Brittany Brown has revealed her ambitions after coasting to victory in the 200m of the Oslo Diamond League meet on Thursday evening.

Brown took first place with a seasonal best time of 22.32 seconds, showcasing her strong form as she prepares for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games and the USATF trials.

Ivorian sprinter Marie-Jose Ta Lou-Smith finished second with a time of 22.36 seconds, while Daryll Neita claimed third place in 22.50 seconds.

Brown's blistering run from outside the one saw her make a late charge to take the memorable win,  while Daryll Neita was third in 22.50s.

“I had confidence going into this race - I knew I could win and I did exactly what my coach told me what to do,” she told the media after the match

“I feel strong and I've come a long way so I feel really good. Today was really nice and now I'll probably have some ice cream to celebrate.”

Brown aims to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic games at the upcoming USATF trials.

“I'll head back into training now before trials and then it's all about making sure I make the team for Paris. I believe I can do that, I'm excited.”

Brown represented America  at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest after coming second in the USTAF Outdoor championships in the distance, clocking 10.90 seconds.

She however fluffed her lines in the finals, as she finished seventh in 10.97 seconds.

Brown’s 2024 season

Brown finished third in the 200m of the LA Grand prix a fortnight ago with a time of 22.35. She had earlier opened her season at the Jamaica Athletics Invitational meet, where she finished second with a time of 51.21 seconds in the 400m event.

With her current form and determination, Brittany Brown is poised to make a significant impact at the Paris Olympics, aiming to bring home a medal and continue her ascent in the world of sprinting.
