Jamaica's Kishane Thompson did not start the race he was widely expected to win.

USA sprinter Fred Kerley meted out his long held revenge on Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala as the 2024 Wanda Diamond League made it’s 12th stop in the Polish city of Silesia.

In Kishane Thompson's absence, the duo went toe to toe and was only separated by the photo on the finish line as Kerley went out a victor in Meet Record of 9.87 as Omanyala recorded 9.88 seconds.

Kerley and Omanyala's beef emanate from Nairobi when the Kenyan miraculously survived a close false start to win the 2022 Kip Keino Classic ahead of Kerley. The dejected American had some choice word afterwards but got the opportunity to show who is best between the two and did not waste it in Silesia.

Jamaican Ackeem Blake registered his Personal Best time over the distance as he took 3rd spot in 9.89 while former Olympic 200m champion Lamont Marcell Jackobs came in 4th in 9.93.

Fast rising British star Jeremiah Azu had a day to forget as he could only muster a 10.05 performance as Austin Pjai of USA recorded 10.06 seconds. Rohan Watson of Jamaica and Ali Chituru completed 7th and 8th on 10.18 and 10.69 seconds respectively.
