Olympian Twanisha Terry has been part of all three gold medal-winning relays teams for USA over the last three years.

American relay coach Mechelle Freeman has hailed Twanisha ‘TeeTee’ Terry as the cornerstone of Team USA’s relay success, describing her as the team’s most valuable member.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Ready Set Go podcast, Freeman highlighted Terry’s extraordinary contributions to the USA Women’s 4×100m Relay team, which secured a historic golden treble at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

“TeeTee has been part of all three of our gold medal-winning relays over the last three years,” Freeman said.

“She’s a utility runner, someone you can depend on. She understands her role under pressure, stays poised, and executes perfectly. That’s what makes her so great.”

Terry’s standout performance at the Paris Olympics was instrumental in Team USA’s success.

Running the second leg of the relay, Terry clocked a stunning time of 9.98 seconds, the fastest of her team.

She seamlessly received the baton from Melissa Jefferson and passed it to Gabby Thomas, who set up Sha’Carri Richardson for a blazing final leg of 10.09 seconds.

Together, the quartet clinched gold, reaffirming Team USA’s dominance on the global stage.

Terry’s consistency and composure under pressure have been pivotal to Team USA’s achievements in recent years.

In 2023, she was part of the record-breaking relay team that included Tamari Davis, Gabby Thomas, and Sha’Carri Richardson.

The team clocked an astonishing 41.03 seconds at the World Championships, the fastest time ever recorded at the event.

The previous year, Terry anchored Team USA to another World Championship gold, showcasing her versatility and ability to deliver in high-stakes moments.

Freeman emphasized that Terry’s ability to handle pressure and adapt to her team’s needs sets her apart.

“If something doesn’t go well, she doesn’t panic. She knows how to hyperfocus and get the job done, even in high-pressure situations."

With her knack for excelling under pressure, TeeTee Terry has cemented her place as a linchpin in Team USA’s relay team.
