Nigeria's Alaba Akintola is lined up to compete at the American Track League in his quest to hit the World Championships qualifying standards.
Fresh from racing at the NCAA Championships, Alaba Akintola is scheduled to compete in the 100m and 200m events at the American Track League Open in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday.
The Middle Tennessee State University standout athlete qualified for the NCAA Championships but didn't make it through to the finals or run a World Championships qualifying standard.
Akintola will be gunning to run the standards of 10.00s and 20.16s to guarantee his spot at the championship in Budapest.
He has Personal Best times of 10.04s and 20.26s clocked last year, while his Season's Best times are 10.05s and 20.43s respectively.
