The AFN has postponed the first Golden League/All Comers meet of the year by a day.
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has postponed the Golden League/All Comers in Abuja by a day.
The two-day meet will officially be AFN's first competition of the year for all athletes, was previously scheduled to hold between May 25th - 26th at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
However, a statement released by the federation says the competition will now hold from May 26th - 27th at the same venue.
"I am directed to inform you that the AFN Golden League and All Comers competitions scheduled to take place at MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja from 25th - 26th May, 2023 has been shifted by a day.
"This one-day shift is as a result of the cordoning of the stadium based on part of the presidential inauguration programme scheduled to take place in package A on the 25th May, 2023.
"The programme has now been rescheduled to hold from 26th – 27th May, 2023," said the AFN in the letter sent to athletics stakeholders.
The AFN says accommodation arrangements have been made at the National Institute for Sports Hostel in Package B of the Moshood Abiola Stadium for all athletes that have arrived or are on their way to compensate for the one-day shift of the event.
