Abuja international marathon flags off on April 29.
The maiden edition of the Abuja will flag off on April 29 as the organizers revealed plans.
The initiative of Unicentral Resources Generation Limited and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCTA) will take place in Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The management of Unicentral, the licensee of the Abuja International Marathon led by Zsuzsanna Ogunmiloyo, and top FCTA officials led by Director of Sports Luka Istifanus met at the Ogun State House office of Unicentral to fine-tune the program to make it a memorable experience for elite runners, both Nigerians and foreigners, fun runners, and students.

Okpekpe 10km Road Race set for May 27
The road race promises to deliver another pacesetting event in 2023.
The full marathon (42.195 km), the 10 km Family Race, and the 5 km for students are the three divisions of the race, which begins at City Gate and concludes at the parking lot behind Eagles' Plaza.
The races will be preceded by a 10 days Marathon Expo at The Pavilion beside International Conference Center.
Race Director Olukayode Thomas said that there would be a total closure of the entire route on race day for about 14 hours.

Kenya and Ethiopia once again dominated the 2023 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, with both nations winning the men's and women's categories respectively.
He added that the marathon will boost the economy, boost tourism and engage and empower our youth positively.
He said, “From midnight of Saturday, April 29, 2023, till 2 pm there will be a total shutdown of the entire route, but the FCT Department of Transportation will tell residents and visitors alternative routes three weeks before the race.
“major artists from different parts of the country will perform at the finish points. We appeal to residents and visitors to join us at the finish point where they will be refreshed by 7 Up Bottling Company''.
