Abel Kipsang will once again face off against two-time World 5000m champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen at the Diamond League Meeting in Brussels, Belgium on Friday, September 8.

As the Norwegian seeks victory, a world record is also on his mind in the rarely-run distance. He has made his intentions of attacking the record of 4:44.79 set in 1999 by Morocco’s Hicham El Guerrouj.
As for Kipsang, he will be keen on curing the World Championships heartbreak of missing out on the podium by a whisker. He has so far had a mixed season and will be hoping to bounce back strongly before the season ends.
Kipsang will enjoy the company of compatriots Reynold Cheruiyot, the reigning World Under-20 1500m champion, Boaz Kiprugut, and Cornelius Tuwei.
