More than 42 elite foreign runners will compete in the race, according to the organizers.
The Abeokuta 10km Road Race in 2023 is scheduled to take place on September 9. The winners will get mouthwatering cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to N200,000.
The competition's organizers, Nilayo Sports Management Limited, state that the first-place winner in the elite category would receive $5,000, the second-place finisher will receive $3,000, and the third, fourth, and fifth-place finishers will receive respectively $2, 000, $1,500, and $1,000.
Nigerian runners who finish first in the competition will receive N2 million, second place will receive N1 million, third place will receive N500 000, fourth place will receive N300 000, and fifth place would receive N200 000, respectively.

Abeokuta 10km Race will celebrate Oba Adedotun Aremu birthday
The 2023 Abeokuta 10km Race, according to Bukola Olopade, Chief Executive Officer of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, was unveiled yesterday in Abeokuta.
Olopade, who is pleased that Lotus Bank has been chosen as the event's title sponsor, added that the race would be a part of the weeklong celebrations for Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo's 80th birthday.
He added that the finish point of the race, which is the third in the series, is the front of Alake’s Palace, which incidentally, is opposite the Abeokuta branch office of Lotus Bank.

Itemuagbor, Okpekpe race organiser sends condolence message to Raymond Dokpesi's family
Mike Itemuagbor said Nigeria has lost a real hero of private broadcasting in Dokpesi.
“I am proud to also add that top executives of most of our sponsors like 7Up, Kenya Airways and Cash Token, among others, are all indigenes of Egbaland.
“This edition is being staged by the Egba people to the international community. There will be fanfare at the finish point after the race,” he said.
Also speaking on the race, Alake of Egba, Oba Aremu Gbadebo, who hosted organisers, sponsors and journalists after the press conference unveiling the 2023 Abeokuta 10km Road Race, commended the organisers for maintaining high standards in the state.
