The former Olympic champion, after a challenging 2024 season, is determined to win the 100m gold at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, targeting top rivals with renewed focus.

Three-time European champion Marcell Jacobs has fired warning shots at Noah Lyles, Letsile Tebogo, Ferdinand Omanyala and Co ahead of his return in 2025.

The former Olympic 100m champion will be eyeing the 100m gold medal at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan and has resumed training ahead of silencing his opponents.

Tokyo holds great memories for him since he won the gold medal at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and will be out to replicate the same performance when he lines up against a stacked field.

Marcell Jacobs shared a video on his Instagram with the caption: "How it feels to step back on the track for the first time after a two-month break. 2025 I’m coming.”

The World silver medallist has had a rough 2024 season where he competed sparingly and failed to defend his Olympic title in the men’s 100m. Noah Lyles claimed top honours in the race as Kishane Thompson and Fred Kerley finished second and third.

Marcell Jacobs raced at the East Coast Relays and the World Athletics Relays before claiming the win at the Roma Sprint festival. He then raced at the 63rd Ostrava Golden Spike where he rounded up the podium.

At the Diamond League Meeting in Oslo, Marcell Jacobs finished fourth and went on to defend his European 100m title and win the 4x100m relay title at the European Championships in Italy.

Marcell Jacobs then won the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turkey and headed to the Paris Olympic Games with the much-needed confidence. He sailed through to the final after finishing second and third in the heats and semifinal respectively.

In the final, Marcell Jacobs faded to a fifth-place finish and was heavily strapped as he left the track. He came back and propelled the Italian 4x100m relay team to a fourth-place finish to end his Olympic campaign.

After the Olympic Games, Jacobs finished fourth at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia and ninth at the Diamond League Meeting in Rome. He capped off his season with a fourth-place finish at the Galà dei Castelli and will
